Purpose

Travel to project sites across the United States to capture the required field data using the latest 3D reality capture hardware, including both Mobile and Terrestrial LiDAR as well as drone-based solutions, all in the pursuit of providing the most sophisticated and comprehensive reality capture services to our clients.

Overview

Execute complex geomatics assignments for various projects using point cloud and photogrammetric data to develop 3D digital models, 2D drawings and registered point cloud datasets.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Perform work under moderate supervision. Receive direction on moderately complex assignments, tasks, and execution. Work is frequently reviewed by more senior staff to ensure application of sound techniques and principles. Review work produced by junior staff for quality assurance.

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Collaborate with multiple internal departments to develop and execute the field project plan.

  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders.

Do the Work

  • Travel up to 100% of the time to various project sites and execute the field data collection plan utilizing reality capture devices (mobile, terrestrial, and drone) on a range of commercial and building projects throughout the United States.

  • Ensure that project tasks have been completed, processed, reviewed, and delivered per project requirements and parameters.

  • Determine issues and risks and proactively work with the team to forecast and resolve challenges.

  • Continually advance knowledge and training with upgrades in technology and equipment.

  • Identify, test, and implement new hardware and software technology to increase productivity and results.

  • Assist in refining standard procedures for data collection and training of survey field staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent commensurate experience required.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, or related field preferred.

  • Three or more (3+) years of experience in geomatics, 3D imaging, laser scanning, and data collection and modeling.?

  • FAA Part 107 Certified and/or experience working with unmanned aerial systems (drones) preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.

  • Ability to acquire a U.S. Passport may be required.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

  • Primarily outdoor work environment and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.

  • Mobility around a job/construction site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling and wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Frequent and prolonged use of data collection equipment and/or drones, necessitating walking the assigned study area to complete data collection over the course of several hours.

  • Local and out-of-the-area, and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.

  • Overtime and weekend work may be requested, as needed.

  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasional pushing or pulling up to 20 pounds.

  • Occasional reaching outward or above shoulder.
